Chaos In The CBD may well be one of the hottest propositions in the current house firmament, but they’ve still managed to maintain the homespun vibe that comes from growing up in the idyllic suburbs of Auckland.
Tapped into the dancefloor, their sets float through luscious, groove-laden selections until the perfect moment arrives to dial it up to the next level. Chaos In The CBD will take you on a journey, but you might not want to come back.
JOINED BY:
RONA.
RONA. is a Kaytetye producer and DJ whose sound is deeply grounded in the vast desert landscapes of her home, Mparntwe in central 'Australia’. Blending the rhythms and landscapes of desert Country with the pulse of club culture, she crafts immersive sonic experiences that are driven from her life moving between many worlds.
Her Ancestors soundtracked the first sunrise and she continues their legacy, exploring rhythm, sovereignty in sound, and oral storytelling in evolving ways. A sonic and visual storyteller, RONA. layers synths with the textures of Country, creating journeys that resonate with the soul and move dance floors.
MIKALAH WATEGO
Mikalah Watego is an Indigenous DJ raised on Bundjalung Country (Gold Coast) and now based in Naarm/Melbourne. Known for her energetic and unpredictable sets, she blends techno, tribal percussion, bass-heavy club sounds and breakbeat influences into a driving and immersive sound shaped by underground dance culture.
She has performed at festivals including Pitch Music & Arts, Strawberry Fields, Splendour in the Grass and Mode, while supporting artists such as Ben UFO, Salute and Ogazón. Through her music, Mikalah continues to build a distinct presence within Australia’s underground electronic scene while bringing visibility to her culture and community.
Jacob Tompkins
After entering the industry in 2018 as an aspiring producer, Jacob Tompkins quickly found his lane in a more experimental space. His current work moves away from his traditional house roots, favouring the high-tension, cinematic atmosphere that now defines his output.
His presence in the booth is backed by a touring history that includes Splendour in the Grass, Listen Out, and Wildlands, alongside sets at high-concept venues like Melbourne’s Music Room, No Tomorrow, and Paradiso. Having shared lineups with Denis Sulta, HAAI, John Summit, Cassian, The Blessed Madonna, Folamour, and Tal Fussman, Jacob’s music has found a home on labels such as Sweat It Out and Refuge Recordings, with airplay on BBC Radio 1, ABC and more.
scalymoth
Scalymoth is a Meanjin-based DJ and producer smiling her way through the electronic scene. Since beginning her DJ journey in 2020 on a Covid lockdown whim, Scalymoth has become a staple on dancefloors across Meanjin and airwaves across the globe, fuelled by her passion for music and ever-broadening taste.
With support slots under her belt such as X Club, Nia Archives, Yousuke Yukimatsu, Interplanetary Criminal, Overmono and Surgeon, Scalymoth is a force to be reckoned with. Scalymoth's debut EP, Lush/Humble Rumble, was met with great success, and heralded her into Mixmag's 2025 Artist's to Watch list.
Tinylittlebug
tinylittlebug is a Magandjin mainstay with notable supports under their belt such as Jex Opolis, Sound Metaphors, dj Possum & Myles Mac. Untethered to any one particular genre, a tinylittlebug set has a distinctive soulful, warm approach to their selections. With a deep passion for community their sets are imbued with the knowledge that every dance floor is an opportunity to experience the unfiltered joy that comes with connecting through music.
